Minding their own business, the oranges have come to town almost 2 months in advanced since it had been a so-so last year and retails are trying really hard to hype up the celebration.
It was
perfectly understandable and a total chaotic rush when Christmas and Chinese
New Year were back-to-back during that one particular year, and I guess this
tradition has come to stay.
Much like a few ‘perks’ we acquired during the pandemic such as online calls and face masks, things don’t really get back to normal, do they?
One thing that does stay the same is the boxes and crates of mandarin oranges waiting to be packaged and regifted to everyone and anyone.
Cash and gold would be much preferable to many, not a perishable auspicious
fruit, though given its symbolism and well-meaning of wishes, it can hold the
power to alter destiny if we choose to believe so.
It would be an honor to be stuffed with tangerines and overdosing in vitamin C this year, because you and I, and subsequently the world needs all the luck and prosperity it can get to go through what I viewed as a volatile yet promising dawn of a new Dragon.
