Heyy.
It’s the one who couldn’t hold a grudge because she’s easily distracted.
These movies made too much sense that it’s a MUST to watch, so let me spoil it for you (or you could just not read the description lol):
The Sandman (TV series)
Some parts are just too real that I need to pause every couple second, just to let it sink in. For Neil Gaiman to write up such a story made me curious does he observed all these behaviors in real life before or has he actually lived through feelings like these. It’s painful and yet therapeutic, especially the episode about Death. Hope everyone has the chance to watch this, might be potentially life changing.
Planet of the Apes movies (ALL 3)
To evolve is a tedious process. Species we have today took millennia to produce the best offspring, with longer necks, longer beaks, stronger legs or faster wings. Humans evolved, sure. But at some point, we stopped evolving and somehow, we managed to be at the top of the food chain in the shortest period of time, without evolving any wings, photosynthesis, fins or gills. Why? Because we traded those abilities for intellect. We invent planes, brought about agricultural revolution and conquered the world with the help of weapons, ships and submarines. I really liked how the third movie played with that idea of intellect, that if we can’t think and communicate, and lost all sense of speech which is the most important thing ever in human history aside from fire, are we even Human then?
Where the Crawdads Sing
Recently watched, it’s ok. This is the first time I saw a movie showing an abusive/ manipulative relationship from start to end, and it’s well written. For the abusers, it shows how insecure and terrified of rejection they are, which makes them resort to brute force to assert some kind of control over the situation and people to make sure no one leaves them. For the survivors, it shows how they’re seemingly trapped in these circumstances and why it’s so easy to tolerate abusers, thinking that it’s never their intention or their fault to hurt them. Though killing is a viable option, you’ll have much more peace in mind handing it to the authorities and social services. For those reading who are in any social work/ authority of power, please do know that victims are usually only calling in because you are their last resort. Please don’t dismiss cases like these because you’ll never know maybe that will be the last time you’ll ever see them alive.
