RWC 14 - Joy

Joy can only be experienced once you have felt pain before, therefore measuring that sensation next to it equals to the amount of joy you'll feel.

In a way, joy is a sugar-coated version of pain and suffering.

If you have lived your life in a dungeon (hopefully not), joy comes in nice food and water, or just another day to spare your life. If you're working, maybe the greatest joy is to earn more than your keep, or to travel worry-free.

No longer will you feel happy for the miracle of being alive tomorrow, or having enough food on the table.

Sure, little things count. But the hardest part is counting on those little things when you hit rock bottom, when nothing seems to matter anymore.

The hardest part is finding joy when there's nothing to be joyful for.

The act of depending on the world for joy is just a recipe for disaster.

Smiles and laughter from your family and friends, desserts from your favorite restaurant, even your internet connection can be cut off as easily as the rest of these things can leave.

The only thing that's truly yours to keep is you.

You are your own bundle of joy.

You are the one who is brave enough to go through the pain in recognizing joy.

Joy exists in you all along, so be brave enough to feel it.
