Washing Machine Therapy

Staring at the magic box, your mind wandered about all the things that you can accomplished right now, instead of wasting your time waiting for clean laundry.

Patiently, you wait for all your guilt and pain to be washed away by the rising water and unsettled foams. They are thoughts that haunt you when you’re not looking, slowly engulfing the paradise in your head.

You wondered what it’s like to be free from the troubles of your mind.

You close your eyes and all your thoughts instantly collide.

You pull the brakes and managed to halt a few bad ideas from popping onto your movie screen, but it is too late, and the film tapes start to roll.

The movie runs as usual, the made-up story of an upside-down you, living in a right-side up world.

Where nothing runs smoothly and nobody cares for your existence.

The churning sound of the washing machine made it hard to concentrate, but eventually the noise died down to a hush.

Closing your eyes, you tell yourself that everything will be fine, nothing bad is going to happen.

The movie continues, this time in monochrome.

You tell yourself to be in the moment, believing that everyone has a purpose in life, and someone is waiting for you at the other end of this vast universe.

The movie continues, this time in silence.

You tell yourself this is just the beginning of a new adventure. Being scared of the future shows that you are worthy of improvement, and growth.

The movie pauses, hanging on a climax.

This is what it’s like to stop overthinking.

Taking a deep breath and fill your mind with peace and calmness.

You open your eyes with a sense of determination.

The washing machine stops spinning.

A pile of clean laundry is waiting for you to sort out and fold back to its normal pattern.

You’ll realize that this day is not so bad after all, because all is calm, and the movie pauses for the day.

The question here is: Will you hit 'Play'?
