The Wait

The train is packed with people from all walks of life. Within them, wonderful stories waiting to be shared. Yet, the train zooms by station after station, and no one dares to make a move.

There are invincible walls surrounding each passenger, skeptical of anyone who crossed their personal space. Life has treated some of us harshly, scarring our once young and golden hearts. Conversations start and end with lightning speed, with people being suspicious about the motive behind each word uttered by the stranger next to them.

Good intentions are mistaken for the worse. There is no peace because our hearts don’t believe there is such an option, that nobody is brave enough to hope for kindness without any strings attached.

Maybe we are wrong.

Upon a closer look on these invincible walls, we’ll notice that they are as thin as ice. These are not walls of protection from the past, these are thin walls of vulnerability. They made the world seem blurry and unclear, trapping people in a cocoon of eternal winter. It is pretty obvious then, why no one dares to make a move.

We are all trapped within our own walls, desperately waiting for someone to break the ice.

In the end, it's just that someone always has to start. To begin rolling the ball. Otherwise, we'll just be waiting, watching, hoping.
