Petal 4: Rain Clouds

Born from a thunderstorm no one could recall
Drifted too close to the Sun for good
Silver linings never existed in black clouds before
Somehow you caught mine, loving my dark shade of blue

I place stars in your sky with minor chords from my harp
Dancing alone leaving a gap that is too far to close up
You thought my shiny flaws are the most romantic thing at night
A space between us so I could dance to my heart’s delight

Treating me like a princess on a cotton candy throne
Showering me in a fountain of strawberry fondue
I’m so sad that I’ll just turn pink whenever I’m alone
A confused chameleon, with the fading color of blush just for you

Don’t you know I was born from a thunderstorm
Drifting above you cause you’re my whole world
You make me so happy that I start to pour
That’s what rain clouds do, after all.
