Can’t call myself a Marvel fan because I haven’t
watched all their movies YET, but I sure love superhero movies.
It’s good against evil, and justice always
wins.
Who doesn’t like that?
Better still, who doesn’t like to be a
superhero for one day?
Powers or no powers, wearing the
body-fitting hero suit already gives you the confidence to act like one.
I’ve seen crazy stunts and dance moves
done by these cosplay actors, taking their time grooving around and acting like
a well-known hero to all mankind, while promoting their booths in the mall, or
just strutting around the halls of a comic event, which was what I saw the
other day.
I was overwhelmed by the cosplays. They
were mostly Japanese cosplay artists selling costumes, video games, and so many
interesting art pieces.
I had to say, I literally knew none of
them, but I loved their costume designs. From warriors carrying enormous swords
to creatures with dark gothic looks on their faces, those substantial amount of
time and effort needed to look a certain way was really realistic and it did
pay off when die-hard fans came rushing and pushing one another just to get a
good selfie with their favorite characters that came to life.
It was surprising, but I noticed Spiderman
was there as well.
Spiderman in a Japanese cosplay event?
Yup, there was Iron man too, and sadly, it’s
just these two from the Marvel characters.
I stayed until lunchtime, and I could see
many soldiers and weird characters swarming out into nearby restaurants to grab
a bite.
I guess Spiderman was probably too tired to
move then, after the creeping-around moves and playfully scaring customers with
his handsome mask.
He found a nice, quiet spot against the
wall, took out his orange cat blanket, and decided to take an afternoon nap.
I was hoping to take a selfie with the
friendly, neighborhood Spiderman.
Aw well, too bad.
I guess that great power comes with great responsibility... and great fatigue.
I guess that great power comes with great responsibility... and great fatigue.
Despite the thrill of pretending
to be a hero for a full day, being yourself every once in a while is fine, and
it’s totally okay to take time to rest and sleep.
Just remember to always keep your mask on.
