rainbow sugar, glazed

slowly across the flat belly of the sky
Like
a hunting creature in search
Of
prey
Or
a creature in pain, in search
For
help
The
glowing aqueous light
Pooled
slowly across the horizon
And
I can feel
As
if
The
sticky, sweet liquid
Is
on my skin
As
smooth and thick as honey
As
bitter and warm as blood
Or
maybe it's cold
For
all that I know
Maybe the sun has
cold blood
